I lived in Cambodia from 94-96 although I spent two months in Lao 95-96 and Myanmar 94, 96.

My first visit to SEA was 93. Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar.

We just booked a week of snorkeling on Bunaken, small island off the top of North Sulawesi.

IMO remote reefs have nothing to worry about from the people that make it out to them. The reefs that experience actual tourism more the issue. Besides they'll all be gone in 15 years or less. Most are already totally wiped out. Thailand has really no reef 0-8m

^Congrats on the booking! I was supposed to be going to Bali in June, but due to the new upcoming job, I'm going to go for three weeks at Christmas instead. :)

I've posted a link to my travel photos I've taken over the last ten years or so. I haven't put half of what I've taken, but I put the ones up I've found and liked. If anyone else is on flicker feel free to add me. :)

Tragic for environment and world. We're now stuck with spending large amounts and scrambling to remote corners of the world.

I used to literally get off the bus, in a songteaw, on a boat and be in coral paradise before lunch.

Change of plans. Raja Ampat. Six days

We may do a month there in December if I toss in the towel at work.

There is a private island which is rented via Airbnb.

The price is more affordable than expected as well to stay there with your partner for a day giving 370 euro.

The island called «Bird» located in Central America Belize and promises to make you feel like a queen, even if this last for a few days.

The Bird Island is quite remote, and to get there you must first go to the nearby island, where the owner lives and who will then take you with his boat in your private oasis!

Once you arrive and throw a first look at the place you will immediately understand that around you there is only sea, tropical plants and trees.

Indeed, the only house that has the island is basically a simple traditional wooden cottage, but has enough windows so that you see from where you stand clear blue tropical waters - even from your bed.

In Bird Island, there are also adventurous activities such as exploration of coral reefs and water sports.

The place is appropriate for weddings, while the relatively affordable price has made it quite popular online destination.

The only sure thing is that the Bird Island will offer you the most relaxing and peaceful holiday of your life.
