Excellent tune. Listening to it a whole lot these days.
I'm hipping and hopping all over the place today.
jamaican post-dancehall minimalist reggae
same guy at 18 or so, older stuff
I love this kind of low-budget local Jamaican reggae. This is actually real Jamaican reggae, the roots-rasta stuff is a sub-genre for export and rasta scenes in Jamaica.
it kind of grates, but the mix is low-fi goodness, lost of little breaks you only hear in this kind of reggae...the vocals are imperfect, but sincere, the and vid is nice and lame....it all adds up!!! :: You can just taste the Jerk Chicken with this kind of thing...potholes in the road..poor families homes in the hills, idle afternoons on benches..listless, churchgoing youth...crooning...Jamaica
crusading..going to jamaica you realize lots of rastas are very similar to christian evangelicals/activists. Churches everywhere, but the rasta camp is where the really 'righteous' end up (well, those with a taste for weed, too). :happy1:
First day of summer holidays, so..
got some Jamaican dancehall music loaded in my mp3, gonna rock on the way to foodland.
As I write, my grade 1 students are colouring their Christmas card and I've put up some Christmas music for them. :christmastree:
...Handel's Messiah: For Unto Us, etc....
...baroque Christmas music next while I plan my annual Christmas Eve cocktail...
