A draft of an executive order issued by the Trump administration is raising questions among the thousands of immigrant STEM workers it could potentially impact.

Following through on his campaign promise to create more jobs for American workers, President Trump seeks to use the order to limit the number of immigrant employees that technology companies hire through work-visa programs. A draft of the proposal, which was leaked by Vox and can be found here, states “visa programs for foreign workers … should be administered in a manner that protects the civil rights of American workers and current lawful residents, and that prioritizes the protection of American workers -- our forgotten working people -- and the jobs they hold.”

The work-visa programs that Trump seeks to upend — the H-1B, L-1, E-2 and B1 programs, more specifically — are used by technology companies to fill tens of thousands of both high and lower-skill jobs annually.

No matter of his eventual brain tumor, Alzheimers, etc...a guy who's thinking about his own folks first will get a lot of support.

I never liked him and it's really scary what sort of politicians "rule the world." Also ours.

I remember a time in good old Germany when plenty of "Computer Indians" were hired, immediately received a nice house, a lot of income, and a German passport.

But aren't we in a similar country where the jobs, of course excluding teaching, are given to Thais only??? Not too many jobs you're allowed to do here, no matter how good you are.

BF, I think it's really important to think/ discuss who's in charge in the States right now.

    It's a little bit worrisome, isn't it?

The Rothchild family are in charge. They always have been and always will be because they have all the money. Wait and see what happens if Trump upsets their party.

Donald Trump is in charge, and Bannon and Flynn are important. In the background is Robert Gates, the former Director of the CIA and Secretary of Defense, which is good. Donald Trump is a nationalist, and there is nothing wrong with that. There is no Jewish cabal running the USA, although there was a lot of influence during the Obama administration. If you doubt that, then go to Wikileaks and read the email that Michael Froman send to Obama in 2008 telling him to put on his cabinet, "if you have any questions, write back." This is not a joke, and we should thank Assange for this. I think it was enough to impeach Obama, but if you look at the news in America no one even made a peep about it except Noah Chomsky. Obama followed Froman's directive, almost to the letter.

Trump is a complete outsider, an iconoclast, and a lot of powerful people in New York are now wetting the bed. Take the TPP for example: they were going to get rich. Who negotiated the TPP? Michael Froman, a man who has been kicked in the face. Trump is a blunt instrument, and so far so good. I like the guy as long as he does not start WW III.

If you want to worry about something, try this: Flynn, Mattis, Bannon, and Trump himself, are all salivating to start a war with Iran. And Bannon said that the US will go to war in the South China Sea. If we do not have a huge war soon, I will be pleasantly surprised. Stay tuned folks.

I truly hope that there's no tomorrow for a war. Tine for Americans to build tunnels in Vietnam?

Here's how World War Three could start tomorrow

As in the past, it is perfectly possible that a third world war could start with a small event, or even by accident.

US Special Ops just did a mission in Yemen, as you can see in the news. Around ten women and kids killed. One aircraft went down. One US KIA and several wounded. The White House said it had been planned for a long time, which turns out not to be entirely true. The White House said Obama approved it, which is not true at all. And then the White House spokesman (Spicer) gave away the reason that the attack took place on that day: the US likes to attack on a night with no moonlight.

Thank you Mr. Spicer. You just increased the risk on US Special Ops.

I see a lot of monkey business going on, like the US Navy boat that got lost in the Persian Gulf and ended up in Iranian waters. Once the sailors were spoken to, one of them started crying and that was put on national news in Iran. It was really sickening to watch this dude cry like a baby. Do you think the US news played this stuff? Not that I saw. In Iran it was splashed on TV screens all over their country.

The US has several wars going on at the same time. Afghanistan is not going well at all. Record numbers of ANA (Afghan National Army) and ANP (Afghan National Police) are being killed. It went up from 6,000 in 2015 to 7,000 in 2016. Some experts say that Afghanistan can fall any day.

Iraq. What is Iraq? Fiasco. Now we have Iran and the South China Sea. And we have Trump.

Hold onto your hats. I'll make some popcorn because I have a front row seat.

    I tried, I really did.

Thankfully none of my relatives died in the 7/7 London bombing, Paris attacks, New York attacks, Australia attacks, Madrid attacks, Germany attack. If they had I might colour my opinion (and it might not) on the horrible carnage which happens.

Thankfully living in Thailand and not working in London places me one step away from the next attack. But the tit for tat war of attrition doesn't look like ending anytime soon.

What can be done to stop this all?

Certainly the bombing operations are not working.
Certainly the attacks on the 'west' aren't stopping.

But what is trump to do? He has said he is no longer willing to fight others' wars, yet he has a support base as nationalistic as they come and he made promises to them.

Could anyone disagree that it would appear he is a man of his word since he has hit the ground running with his election promises?

He was elected, whether that system is flawed or not was not questioned before the election. Those now calling "popular vote" sounds a little like sour grapes.

Again he was elected on a set of promises/visions. He set up his stall and under the lawful process he was chosen to carry out what he promised. He is what he says he was and is doing what he said he would do. What's the big surprise?

Will he make u-turns? well of course he will but show me a leader who doesn't.

Taking failed asylum seekers from Aus does seem a bit stupid.

It may just work out ok. Give the man time to either implode or succeed.

There wasn't anything that Bill Clinton / Obama and Hillary/Soros did that caused a stir with the liberal socialist democrats.
-Clinton paid 3 bil to North Korea to stop Nukes.
Should have been thrown out of office for the bj in the oval office (and lying under oath denying it).
Where were all the women protestors back then?
-Obama paid the Iranians to stop Nukes.
Released a terrorist as the clock ran down on his term.
Released 1/4 billion to the same Palastinians who were dancing in the streets after 9/11.
    List goes on.
DEMOCRATS sold out the country to stay in power.
Now TRUMP is cleaning up all their shit....And that's what AMERICANS want...And that's why he shocked the world with his underdog upset victory..

Being that you referred to him as a "gentlemen" I appreciate the comment and keeping it civil. I am sure that you are holding back and that is nice. I won't defend him. Everyone has their flaws.
I am just commenting on Trump vs. unwinding Democrat party policies.
I know Trump is going to step on his pecker many times along the way (to say the least). Probably tweeting us all into the above mentioned WWIII.

OK. "Obama attempted to release". Trump stopped the release of frozen funds. I believe temporarily.
