There will be a week long Innovations event this week. My classroom has been commandeered. The Academic Dept. told me there wouldn't be any classes. But my boss confirmed a normal work schedule for me.

    • I've been there before. (The Academic Dept. told me my holidays, then my boss called to call me back from the airport, blaming me for not signing in
On Friday, I held some classes outside. But it wasn't all that practical.

Care to share instances of Thainess at the work place?

And the place we choose not to teach in. In America, some kids have guns, and there is intense racial animosity. It is a violent place, especially from the perspective of an area that does not have such problems (Jiangsu Province, China). Who would want to teach in a school where race is the number one issue, violence is endemic, and guns are present? Not me.

Fortunately, those aren't the only options...

That's true. Guns and the threat of violence are probably always there, but there are still many nice places in the States, good places to teach.
