Two ministers resign following appointment to Privy Council

    7 Dec 2016 | 09:54

BANGKOK, 7th December 2016, (NNT) - The Education Minister and the Justice Minister have officially resigned from their posts after their appointment as new members of the Privy Council by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun.

Former Education Minister General Dapong Ratanasuwan and Former Justice Minister General Paiboon Koomchaya on Tuesday made a farewell visit to Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha.

General Paiboon later told the media that he would perform his duties as a privy councilor to the best of his ability, adding that he had been preparing for the incoming Justice Minister who will succeed him in order to ensure a successful transition.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan stated that the Prime Minister has yet to mention a cabinet reshuffle. He, however, voiced his opinion that there would not be any changes made to security-related ministerial positions if there was a cabinet shake-up.
