Heads up regarding tax payment for foreign teachers in Thailand.
    • Some schools withhold tax from the employee's salary, some don't
    • Paying Personal Income Tax at the Revenue Department is the sole responsibility of the employee
    • Employee has to file the tax clearance before the last day of March 2016
    • Immigration Offices might require a copy of the tax clearance receipt and a copy of the PND 91-form (Personal Income Tax form) when extending the permission of temporary stay
    • Labour Offices might require a copy of the tax clearance receipt and a copy of the PND 91-form when renewing the work permit

Filed my PND.91 today. Went to the office, got a queue number, waited 1 minute and was helped. I gave the official a copy of the PND.91 2557 and told here that everything was the same. The official entered all data in the computer system and all was done in 5 minutes. :smiling

Did my taxes at the local tax office; finished in 20 minutes. Received my refund check 3 weeks later. Immigration Chiang Mai told me that tax receipts are definitely required now for extension of stay for teachers.

That requirement has been there for ages at our Immi in Hua Hin and for 4 or 5 years at our Labour Office.

I filed on 17 March (see my thread for details) so when should I expect my refund cheque?

I'm a little confused as I registered online but couldn't log in so I went to the tax office to file & they did it for me. As the kind lady amended my password, did she file online or offline for me?

If she filed online, don't I have to apply for the rebate online too?

The main reason I'm asking is I just spoke to the school accountant & she said that it usually takes 3 days, so I should go to the tax office (30km away) to inquire about it.

I was at the "tax office" in March. The first lady wanted a password which I didn't have ( Never filed online) and told me "me dai?

Please be aware that there's a form when your helping your parents in law financially. With that document i could push my annual tax down to 2,500 baht, having 33 K per month.

20 K for mom and 20 K for dad in law can be deducted.

Went to the provincial revenue department today to provide some extra documents on their request.

    Copies of
    • passport
    • work permit
    • birth certificate daughter
    • proof of contributions to the SSO
    • marriage certificate

Can expect the check for tax returns soon. :thumbs up
