Classes every saturday in Bangkok is a no go for me since I live in Lampang. Will be looking to see if there are any courses further north. Even though I have the gold card something tells me that similar requirements will be required for renewal. Just a hunch.

Me too, need something that's either online- 100% or as near to 100% as is possible or has something going on in Phuket- close enough to be able to go every weekend.

Thanks for sharing, still looking at Unitefl- it's more money but online. Also Spidey mentioned the Nottingham Uni one - PCGEi I think- will check them all out.

    Thanks

This sounds good and affordable. They make reference to online learning. Is this something I would only have to attend a few times? I live and work in northern Chiang Mai so I would have to make some big changes to get this, though it looks like it could be worth the trouble. Thank you for posting this.

Good hunch and you might be right. However, I think it will be a special renewal course organised on behalf of the TCT or by the TCT. It would be a obvious thing as 'professional development' as stated in the renewal-requirements are non-standard and not always verifiable in regards to content. Moreover, a kind of renewal-course, not exactly for the same purpose, seems already to be in place for Thai teachers.

I wrote the email address in the brochure and got a quick reply. Classes are at their Rangsit campus all day Sat and Sun and begin again Feb 7. No online option.

I am not ready to run to BKK just yet.

As the Sunday is added, is the course now 1 year?

The brochure says three semesters, so a year and a half, I would assume.

I don't think they added Sunday. The brochure just says classes start Saturday.

That's literally, figuratively and annoyingly a 13 hour drive from where I am.

78000 is a reasonable cost. However as it is not an on-line course you have to put in account the costs of transportation and accommodation for at least one year, if you live outside Bangkok and in a reasonable distance from campus. I guess when you calculate them will bring you to the same result with a good on-line degree.:wai3:
