Need 2 teachers for government school MEP Pratom 1 & 2. 12-14 contact hours per week. 30,000 baht/month. 12-month contract. Start May 2017. Comfortable, easy position in laid-back school. Plenty of classroom freedom. Good textbooks. In Lampang, about an hour south of Chiang Mai; quiet little town with about 60k people, a river, uh, some buffalo and rice paddies, horse carriages in the streets, we have a few markets, low crime and cheap noodles....

    28 hours for 60k?

You forgot the fact that the MEP where the positions are at has a growing reputation for its English teaching :yes:clap

If someone wants to hold 2 full-time positions at the same time, they're welcome to it!

:coffeeCoffee time tiredtony, strong black coffee.:coffee

    Lampang has 60k people
2 contracts at 30k baht each would be 60k baht

Having thought about it though it would depend on the people as to whether it would be a good exchange, but where would I put them?:smile

C'mon you can't seriously teach 28 hours a week and do a proper job of it. That's just a pile of burnout and shitty lessons.

12 hours for 30k is nice.

Trouble with these jobs us that's what you sign for. Then they add ten hours a week with who knows what. Even in BKK the skeeze weasel in free hours - extracurriculars, etc.

Would they hire somebody who's not an NES with 12 years of teaching experience?

I'd take dad in law's buffalo for an interview then....

I've got about 22 + now and I can tell you that it's horror pure when you include homework for two EP classes and quite a few kids with serious learning disorders.

There's a facebook page with job offers. Here's a great example of a job you should never apply for:

    Job id: 7807

Salary: ฿28,000 THB to ฿28,000THB per month
    Location: Kabinburi Prachinburi, Thailand
    Industry:Education
Working Hours:Monday to Friday approximately from 7:45am 6:00pm, teaching hours range from 18-22 per week, weekends off
    Positions: 3
    Date posted:Tue, 21 Feb 2017 00:00:00 +0800
    Students: Kindergarten

RequirementsNationality: British, American, Canadian, Australian, Irish, New Zealand
Age: 18 to 45 and not too tired guys, please.

That's 10 hours and 15 minutes at this "nice place" for 28 K/month, five days a week.

The ideal job for you, Tony. :thumbs up
