In order to keep this forum enjoyable & interesting for all of us here on Thailand Teaching, we ask simply that you please follow some basic rules & guidelines.

By participating in this discussion forum, you are consenting to these rules & guidelines. Violators may be warned, suspended, or banned, at the sole discretion of the moderators & administrators.

    ............................................................................................................
    * Note for new members:
All new members under a post count of 5 will not be able to post URLS, pictures.
Also please be aware that many 'Spam' words will block your ability to post replies and Threads until you have reached a post count of 5.
All new 'Real' members, please stick to the Newbies section and keep your replies simple, a simple 'Hi, I am new to the Forum' will soon get your post count up to 5, then you won't have any problems with future posting.

    .............................................................................................................

    1. Exercise a modicum of common sense & be considerate toward your fellow members. Diversity of opinion & intelligent civil discourse is positively encouraged; and by the same token, insults & flaming are not tolerated. Disagreeing with an idea of another member is different from attacking that individual. [/COLOR] Be very careful with using real names of persons in public. Defamation is a serious offense in Thailand.

    2. Please do try to keep vaguely on-topic. Endeavour to keep your comments consistent with the subject & purpose of the thread. Deliberate disruption such as consistent off-topic and/or frivolous commentary will not be tolerated.

The moderators & administrators reserve the right to delete posts and/or whole conversations we determine are of an irrelevant, abusive or disruptive nature.

    3. You alone are responsible for the material you post. You shall not knowingly post content or links to content that violates the copyright, trademark, patent or other intellectual property right of any third party & that you will remove the same should you discover that you have violated this provision. Likewise, you may not post content or links to content that is libelous, defamatory, offensive, obscene, racist, abusive, that violates a third party's right to privacy, that otherwise violates any applicable local, state, national or international law, or that is otherwise inappropriate. You will indemnify this forum, its moderators, administrators & affiliates from any & all claims &/or damages (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys' fees) resulting from any claim brought by any third party relating to content you have posted.

    4. Signatures and avatars are expected to follow the same guidelines as posts, which means no flaming, no swearing, no personal attacks, no HTML, and no adult material.

    Advertising:

    - Advertising for personal websites is allowed.
    - Advertising for non-personal websites is not allowed.
    - Advertising for message boards is not permitted.

No political statements may be made in signatures or avatars.

Religious statements are not allowed in your signature or avatar. This includes quotes from the Torah, Bible, Qur'an, or other religious publications, as well as statements, images, or signatures such as, "Jesus Loves You," "Proud to be a Christian," or, "PM me if you are a Christian."

During the months of December and January, you may use your signature and avatar to celebrate the various seasonal holidays that take place. This is the only exception to the above.

    5.
Discussions about His Majesty The King Of Thailand and The Royal Family:

Everyone should aware of the Lese Majeste laws in Thailand which can result in loose lips going to very ugly prisons for extended periods of time.

We respectfully request that users consider very carefully, in what direction any topic directly or indirectly involving His Majesty is likely to go, and not be outraged if moderators deem it in breach of Thai law and delete such posts/threads.

    6. We shall have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor the content of the forum to determine compliance with all sections of this agreement & any other operating rules established by us. We shall have the right in our sole discretion to edit, refuse to post, remove, or otherwise alter any material submitted to the forum. Without limiting the foregoing, we shall have the right to remove any material that we, in our sole discretion, find to be in violation of this agreement or inappropriate for any reason whatever without consent.

Notwithstanding all of the foregoing, members remain solely responsible for the content of their messages.

We further reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to remove a member's privilege to post content in our discussion forum. Members who re-register with new accounts will have those accounts deactivated without notice. Repeated attempts will result in our contacting your ISP with a complaint.

    7. You understand & agree that this forum, its moderators, administrators are not responsible for any content posted by third parties. Any opinions, advice, statements, services, offers, or other information or content expressed or made available by third parties, or any other member of the forum, are those of the respective author(s) or distributor(s) & not of us. We retain the right to delete posts without prior notice, as we want to keep this forum enjoyable & informative for everyone.

    8. You acknowledge & agree that you use and/or rely on any information obtained through the discussion forums at your own risk. The forum owner is not in any manner endorsing the content of the discussion groups & cannot & will not vouch for its credibility and/or reliability. The disclaimer of liability contained in this section applies to any damages or injury caused by any failure of performance, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, computer virus, communication line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, alteration of, or use of record, whether for breach of contract, tortuous behavior, negligence, or under any other cause of action.

Each member specifically acknowledges that we are not liable for the defamatory, offensive or illegal conduct of third parties, subscribers, members or other members of the forum & that the risk of injury from the foregoing rests entirely with each member.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that your ISP needs to be contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

Each post/thread has a 'Report' button, if you feel that a post/thread breeches any of the above, click and report it.

We do NOT tolerate the use of the following:

    - Proxy servers
    - Sharing of member passwords
    - Members with multiple user names

Members with less than five posts will not able to send Private Messages or use URLs in their posts.

Posts at the Job Leads sub-forum need approval from the moderators before they become public.

Members who have joined our community but have not posted in the first month since they have joined might be deleted.

    Update: Tuesday 18 December 2012

    - Any posts or threads that encourage or maintain cross-forum flaming, fights, or arguments are not allowed. Links to credible threads on other forums that add to Thailand Teaching Asia threads and discussions are allowed (at moderator's discretion).
    - Any publicly available news that is not related to education in a strategic, tactical or operational way is not allowed in any of the dedicated teaching rooms

Thailand Teaching welcomes open discourse regarding TEFL course providers in Thailand and elsewhere, with the following guidelines in mind:

    1) Positive and negative comments should only be made about courses of which the poster has firsthand knowledge. For example, "I liked XYZ course because..." or "I was unhappy that Mr. XXX at XYZ course did not actually teach our sessions..."

    2) Comparison of courses should only be made if the poster has participated in the courses discussed.

    3) Attacking of course providers, course owners or personnel involved in courses that are outside of the above guidelines will not be tolerated.

    4) Discussion of the validity of course advertising claims will not be tolerated. This is not the forum for such discussion. If you disagree with claims a course provider makes, take it up with them personally.

    5) Moderation of course discussion threads will strictly follow the above guidelines. The admin of this board believes moderation to ensure fairness and objectivity to be of the greatest benefit to potential teachers.
