This week me and my wife decided to have a kao man kai dinner in my town.
To our great surprise instead of a normal charge of 40 baht we had till last month the street vendor charged us with 45... We thought that it was his own decision to rise the price and we decided to try another shop next time.
However to our great surprise the next vendor charged us with 50 baht...
We are living in a town in Rayong province but I insist that an 25%+ rise to the price of a simple Kao Man Kai plate is unaccepted.
Do you have any similar experience through the country?

AFAIK, prices here are the same on things like a plate of rice with greasy chicken on it, however, there is astronomical increases in things like housing up here.

I miss the kao muu daeng dishes I used to eat in KK for 35B! That was a great bargain and the sauce and meal was quite good, I dare say!

great stuff when the sauce is tasty and the rice is good. i do prefer bamee naam muu daeng a bit more though. runs for about 40-45 baht in phuket.
