As my wife (girlfriend at the time) and I lived in an apartment when I first moved to Thailand,
we couldn't get a dog. We started with an aquarium, but got tired of getting attached to fish
that would die or start swimming upside down rather randomly. She "asked for" a pet rabbit
one day with little puppy dog eyes and I immediately said "Yes"...
We went to Chatuchak Market and found the perfect little bunny.

Introducing Bun Bun, our little Holland Lop mix (mixed with "Thai rabbit" according to the seller).

Bun Bun (Bun, Bungy, Rat, Doodoo Boy, You Little!!!, etc.) is two years old now and I think he
has reached his maximum size. He smells when he plays in his own pee or poop, and unlike a dog,
refuses to be bathed. He, rather ineffectively, licks himself clean like a cat...which often results
in Mom and Dad getting some very stinky kisses!

Just wanted to represent for the rabbit owners, if any, on TT. Here are some pictures of our
Bun over the past few years...

This one is a collage of the day we brought him home vs. one year later ;)

This one is Bun and his backpack. As I am a long distance runner, I like to say that this is his
running kit with hydration pack. He hates it!!! **until I pull a dehydrated strawberry out of
his ducky backpack and feed it to him!**

    Any more rabbit owners?

He's cute. I have a cat, who followed me home from the vets, after following me from the school to a car to the vets. I may speak to the landlord about a dog :-) A special needs or elderly adoptee dog.:thai wai:

Believe it or not, rabbits do purr kinda like cats. Their purr is made by them
grinding their teeth together when they are content which Bun does when
you rub his cheeks or his head!

Friends and family are always threatening to eat him ;)
My wife calls him "Chicken Pot Pie" and "Meatloaf"

Rabbits don't do so well in the heat, that's why you may notice small bottles
of ice in his cage with him in some of the pictures.

He looks pretty funny when he sits on a bottle of ice ;)

This bunny is definitely the cutest I have ever seen, so much personality shining through and the colour pattern is very cheeky and rascally ;)
Good job in making him so comfortable.

I don't have real children yet, but sometimes I wish I could stick some of my P.4 students in a cage ;)

When I lived in Canada, I adopted a wild baby hare that was on my property. It looked lost and abandoned. Otherwise, the neighbor's cat would probably have killed it. It stayed with me for about 5 months before I let it back into the wild. According to the local vet, it's unusual for a wild hare to live in captivity for more than about three months. Felt a twinge of sadness when I let it go out the door on a beautiful moonlit Canadian night.

Thanks for sharing your bunny experience teacher86. It would tug at the heart strings to have to say goodbye. I always feel bad to see all of the bunnies at JJ market, passed out in the heat, waiting to hopefully be sold to a new home.
