Now that I am on the right thread...where is the tax office? Is there one for each province or a central one in Bangkok?

    Contact the Revenue Department directly.
Tell them where you live and they'll tell you where to go.

Must be getting cynical in my old age...... but what a shocker. Some sites, such as a rather one close to our profession as educators has information from blinking moons ago but if they want your money.......

My tax ID has 13 digits. I took this form to the tax office to amend my details:

    http://download.rd.go.th/fileadmin/tax_pdf/request/lp10.1_110355.pdf

...but they just gave me the ID card with the old tax number on it.

It's looking more and more like they just don't like you.
Are you wearing shorts and flip flops when you go?

Next time I'm wearing my birthday suit or just a dickie bow tie if I'm in a good mood. Speaking of which...

I received an email over the weekend from a, now demoted, coordinator who still has the misfortune to work at my last school. She kindly offered to sort out my tax statement for me & I received it by EMS today. :thumbs up

Timely as I'm due to go to the tax office tomorrow to try & submit the tax return Flintstones style. :smile

Oh & they owe me 8k due to the 6 months that I spent as a 'tourist'. Let's see how enthusiastic they are about that...

So you worked as a tourist? As much as I hate schools trying to bend us over.... I would advise caution on claims that " I was illegal but"

You will be the one kicked out while they will at most suffer a stern look

I don't recall mentioning anything about working illegally. That's quite a serious accusation...

Since you're such a fan of the rule of law, maybe you should re familiarise yourself with Thailand's strict defamation laws & the new Computer Crimes Act...

It's easy to assume that if you say you are working as a tourist in Thailand, you are doing something illegal.

In fact, with what you have said so far about your tax affairs, you have... whether intentionally or not, it doesn't matter.

Good luck getting it all sorted out.

Well, what a contrast from last time!

The lady sorted out the problem with my tax number, submitted the return for me & even gave me extra documents, aside from the tax receipt, in case the MoL required them.

Hopefully I'll receive that cheque before the end of the holidays. :smiling

I reckon it was the birthday suit that helped!
