Fishing in Thailand

I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that none of the regular posters here are into fishing?

On the off chance that I'm wrong, where are your favourite places to fish and what do you catch there? (no extra points for answering 'fish')

I've tried Sirikit dam and the nan river in Uttaradit, Pasak river in Petchabun and a few fishing parks and rivers in Chiangrai. I prefer rivers to fishing parks because rivers present more of a challenge but fishing parks are good if you want to be guaranteed a decent sized fish.

I've got a blog on fishing in Thailand(shameless plug). It's a bit light on content but I'm going to make an effort to keep it up. Here's the link if anyone is interested Fishing in Thailand

I've never tried sea fishing in Thailand and would really like to give it a pop sometime but I don't know anywhere on the coastline that's not covered in deckchairs and umbrellas. Any insight would be appreciated.

    I'm into fishing.

Kaeng Krachan Lake and Mae Prachan in Nong Ya Plong. Both in Phetchaburi province.

    Giant Snake head fish. :fish:

However, the last time was a couple of months ago in a fish pond in Cha Am. :ashamed:

TBH, I don't care too much what I fish for or what I catch. I like the rest and peace. The beers and some nice snacks. :burp:

sorry can't say that i fish but i would love to. the idea of fishing appeals greatly, relaxing reading a good book, glass of wine and taking home your tea. I hope one day to have a life where i can enjoy such a noble sport. Until tat day I will continue to work for peanuts in a job I don't mind.

I visited Phetchaburi province about 10 years ago but never tried fishing there.
The lake at Sirikit dam is great for giant snake head.

I like fishing but I am a lazy old fart now, walk out my back door and go fifty meters to my own fish farm and catch -

Khong Chiam has some good river fishing, or head down a bit further to four thousand islands near Laos/Cambodia border.:wai3:

I go fishing once in a while but have to admit that I'm not very successful, not even in our pond. My GF caught a big one, maybe 2 kg, in 2 minutes with a piece of banana as a bait, lol.

I haven't been fishing here in Prachuab but there's plenty of unspoilt coastline here. There are fishing tours on offer too.

I've always wanted to have my own decent sided lake/pond to grow monsters in and then catch them. Do you have any photos?

Always seems to be the way. Nice pic's.
