    Hi,

What are the prices like when buying acoustic guitars in Thailand compared with the U.S. and Europe? I was hoping to pick up a Takamine G320 over there at some stage. Any advice would be greatly appreciated folks ;)

There's a whole load of new music shops in the remodeled Fortune Town shopping centre (right next to rama 9 MRT station). Not sure about prices but if you're in Bangkok then I think it would be a good place to start looking.

These kinds of goods are often more expensive in Thailand than in Western countries though.

It depends how fussy you are. If you know your way around a guitar and you don't mind second hand ones.....craigslist might be worth a shot. :righton:

If you are not picky about the brand of guitar you buy, you can find many good guitars at a low price in Thailand.

Just a little intuitive thought here:

If it's from Japan or China, it might be cheaper here than in North America or Europe.

Would a Fender FA-100 be of any use to you?

I like Taylor guitars and the only store I have found is at Central Bangna. Made in California, where else.

If haven't heard of the brand, it is probably crap. The standard higher end guitars here for kids are the Yamahas and they are not bad for banging around a classroom. The Takamine's are pretty easy to find around town. Prices seemed to be comparable to what I would pay in the US.
