    Hello and G'Day,

I have to admit that I've never ever heard about the family Quandt before and when I watched a documentary about the richest people in Germany these days, I really felt sick.

You can start here: BMW’s Quandt Family Faces Its Nazi Past | BMW SLAVE LABOR

Johanna Maria Magdalena "Magda" Goebbels (née Ritschel; 11 November 1901 – 1 May 1945) was the wife of Nazi Germany's Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels. A prominent member of the Nazi Party, she was a close ally, companion and political supporter of Adolf Hitler. Some historians refer to her as the unofficial "First Lady" of Nazi Germany, while others give that "title" to Emmy Göring.[1][2]

As Berlin was being overrun by the Red Army at the end of World War II in Europe, she and her husband fatally poisoned their six children in their sleep before they committed suicide. Harald Quandt, her son from a previous marriage survived her. Then the shit started to hit the fan.
Nazi Goebbels’ Step-Grandchildren Are Hidden Billionaires
In the spring of 1945, Harald Quandt, a 23-year-old officer in the German Luftwaffe, was being held as a prisoner of war by Allied forces in the Libyan port city of Benghazi when he received a farewell letter from his mother, Magda Goebbels -- the wife of Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels.

Nazi Goebbels’ Step-Grandchildren Are Hidden Billionaires - Bloomberg

    Wartime Profits
Together, the four sisters -- and the two children of a deceased sibling -- share a fortune worth at least $6 billion, giving each of them a net worth of $1.2 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. They have never appeared individually as billionaires on an international wealth ranking.

I don't care how rich they are. I care about how they came to all the money and read more and more articles. The cruelty of them is unbelievable and through their good connections with the SS and the really big shots they could have as many workers from any Concentration camp they wanted.

Slaves who had to work their battery producing factories, I think it's Varta, had a life- span of about one month, because of all the chemical shit they had to deal with.

But some of these people have survived and nobody got any compensation what they did to them. I've seen an interview with an almost blind from the chemicals man who told his story how they were treated by them.

I'll never ever buy a BMW in my life after all these news and I'm really glad that I always had Benz in my former life in Germany.

The family doesn't want to be seen, they're telling everybody that these old things should be forgotten by now, but they're not even trying to help those people who survived this holocaust.

I thought I should post it somewhere as it's really something I've never heard before. And I grew up in Germany.

The Nuremberg court was very interested but this pr..k then must have found a way to be invisible for a while and they couldn't throw them in jail, or better execute them.

One of these American judges from Nuremberg was then given the whole folder some people found at several places and it all in a sudden changed the whole ballgame.

This guy slipped through their net but was somehow on top of their list.

You can't turn time back, but they should at least compensate people who live a terrible life after being in contact with very dangerous chemicals just that this freak could make a lot of money.

And he really went over many dead bodies to reach his goal. So more I read about them, so more I start to hate them.

Yes, they have all reasons of this world to hide somewhere and not to answer serious questions about their past.

I think any German company, especially one in banking or manufacturing that was around before and after WW2 probably has a closet full of skeletons....same same with Swiss banks.

There is a great and well known documentary (The World at War) that you probably already know about. Some say that it is the greatest documentary ever made. One of the special features is an interview with Hitler's secretary, who describes the last days in the bunker. She explains about the final happenings of the Goebbels children.

Not only the Swiss banks. The Sicilian Mafia is similar to a Kindergarten compared to them.

But then look at Wall Street. Not the best-educated guys got the top jobs. I better shut up now.

And the Vatican with its own bank(s). Oh boy....:flim

Another scary one is the CIA taking over Unit 731 from the Japanese in Manchuria after WW2. Everybody involved in that should have been brought up for crimes against humanity, but somehow escaped under the radar.

I drove behind so many "Mengele trailers" and always got very upset just to read the god damn name.

I'll never forget the first time when I crossed the Dutch border around 1975 and quite a few called me a Nazi. And I freaking hate Nazis.

I can't believe that I am going to defend Wall Street here. If you have a top job on Wall Street, there is "usually" a reason for it. Having worked on that side of the fence for 19 years, I acknowledge there is mucho nepitism. Wall Street is a legal casino using OPM.
Now as for the poor 'ol Vatican, it is the world's smallest country. Being a sovereign state, they would naturally have their own banks. All in fun.

Yes, it's a good read, but the b.s. is hard to swallow.
-They don't care about relationships unless they can fleece you.
-They don,'t care about risks involved...just get the deal done...receive a huge bonus.
-They don't care about the lives that they destroy along the way. Layoffs to pay for their legal bills. People's retirement savings in the company's stocks evaporated

Lend to some mom and pops. Make it look good. Then screw everyone else.
Why is it that Wall Street always recovers from the crisis' that they create/cause..but the middle class does not?

There is a scene at the end of the 'Big Short' where Steve Carell's character takes a call. He is watching the news and says that Paulson and Bernancke had just left the whitehouse. The banks knew what they were doing but did not care about the consequences because they knew the taxpayers would bail them out.

also from the big short - the scene - in a casino where a fund manager describes a synthetic-CDO. Though that conversation did not happen - at least not like it was depicted - it was brilliant.

I worked in finance for 15 years. Take this for what it is worth.. but the average age of my colleagues went from 56 and change to 27 by the time I left. The first year I was there, a guy on the same level as me (though he was 50 years my senior) told me that not all managers were boring guys. He then lifted the leg on his trouser to reveal socks that matched his christmas themed tie. 15 years later when I left, it would not be uncommon for a twenty-something to come in not much before noon, work six hours go to happy hour and come back and work til 11pm.

Perhaps as it became an increasingly young man's game, ideas that appear good but are deeply flawed began to be implemented. whereas before, someone with years of experience would be able to smell the trouble and avoid such ideas.

I reject treating professionals as monoliths, reviled because of where they are. At the same time, call a spade a spade. There are some very ill-intentioned and reckless folks that create havoc for the rest of the industry and for 'main street'.
