A colleague at a local uni raised suspicions about his academic preparation by asking the most basic of grammar questions and by turning his classes into popularity contests and hours of sanook. Admin asked me to run a check on his degrees (something that should have been done, of course, before hiring): while the BA seemed legit (a university in Canada), the MA was from a certain "World University" with campuses (the website claimed) in Kenya, Mexico and Dominica. He left at the end of his second year, claiming that he had been head-hunted by a North American university :smiling .

From the article: "Mr Chaipreuk said the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society would try to track down the wrongdoer in this case. He added while the Education Ministry had taken action against people offering such illicit illicit services, they were hard to suppress.

Those who use such papers would be liable to a jail term of up to five years and/or a fine of up to 10,000 baht, he said."

    Good!

Unless, of course, the miscreants are weighty politicians or related to important families...if that is the case, the accusers will be sued for defamation and subject to a jail term of five years and/or a fine of up to 10,000 baht :smiling
